This is a fender Bassmann Ten Amplifier made around the late 60's or early 70's. I bought this amp at an auction and know nothing about it. It's not really what I wanted. I kinda bought it on impulse. I am trying to learn the Bass Guitar and I may have bought more than I needed. My Son plays and I thought he might be interested if I couldn't use it but he didn't have the money to spare. I have been told these amps are sought after by Regular guitarist. So it's up for sale,
It is in excellent cosmetic condition, Dusty and somewhat musty smelling from being stored away for many years. No tears in the tolex or silver face. In fact except for a very small dent on the edge of the face plate, (That could be straightened easily) and a small indentation in the tolex about as round as a AAA battery, the dust, and the silver face needing cleaned this would be a 9 or 10 out of 10! The silver face is either dusty or was in a smoking house I can't tell which. It does not smell like smoke so I would assume it is dust. It could look like new with the dust being blown off with an air hose and a light cleaning.
As for the sound you would just have to hear it. I played my bass thru it and it sounds OK to me. But keep in mind I am not an expert, I'm a beginner) You would just have to come see and hear it for yourself. The tubes look all original and there are caster connectors in the bottom of the amp but no casters. I do not know how many speakers are in it, I think 4 10's. I have not done anything to it except take the plate off the back to view the tubes. There are no dates on it but there is a serial number.
Starting bid is $499.00. Here is your chance for that vintage sound from a vintage amp made by the best amp maker in the world, Fender.
