Hello this is my 1958 Fender Bandmaster Amplifier – it is in fantastic condition and is original condition with original transformers, speakers (and I beleieve the original cones), cabinet, tweed, tube chart, etc.
It has been serviced with a cap job and it is ready to play for many years to come. All parts date to this period although not everything to 1958 – that said I have every reason to believe that the parts are all original to THIS amp as they are all in similar condition. I am dating based on the serial number but it could in fact be a 1957 given the '57 tube chart and speakers. The amp is rock solid and the winner will be very pleased with both a collectible find that will appreciate and is the best sounding amp you may ever hear.
In picture 1 the grill cloth may appear loose -in fact that is a shadow of a branch from my tree - the grill cloth is original unsnagged and tight.
I have owned a 1958 Harvard and a 1959 Bassman all vintage and oozing with tone - this is the best sounding one by far and frankly the most versatile (not too big as the Bassman is for some clubs - and not too small).
Dating and details follow here:
Serial Number S02307 (1958)
Bandmaster 5E7 (tweed)
S00001 to S00350 - 1955
S00350 to S01200 - 1956
S01100 to S01800 - 1957
S01700 to S02500 - 1958
S02500 to S03700 - 1959
Tube chart details: Bandmaster Model 5E7, GC Date code (March, 1957)
Speaker Codes: 220707, 220707, 220524 (All three have the same label and look identical in terms of age so I beleive these were all placed in the amp at the same time although one has a 1955 date code. Thes are the best speakers IMHO the Jensen Alnico 5s
Transformers: All appear to be correct including the Triad Power transformer.
Tubes: Nearly all are vintage - the Rectifier tube is a Phillips green label, there is one Mullard 12AX7, one Electro Harmonix 12AX7 One of the tube shields appears to be non-original
I am sick about having to sell this amp - It is one of the cleanest and most original you will ever find - and it is the holy grail of amps - better than my '59 Bassman, but it is more original than my Bassman so this one has to go.
I am not interested in trades. This will be well packed - I have an ATA Bassman case that I can use for shipping if the buyer will return it to me at their cost. I want to ensure it arrives safely and I think this would be the best way to protect it. I have many more pictures so just let me know if there is something you need to see.
Terms: I will accept Cashier's Check or Wire Transfer Payment on this one. Shipping within the Continental US will be $90 via Fedex Ground - actual shipping for International Sale. Finally - I have other great listings please check them out and feel free to call for specific questions. 303-808-7378
Best of Luck - Mark
